Installation Guide

Prepare surface
Paint Correct or clean surface if not paint, after pinat correction clean surface with a panel prep or alcohol to remove oils and waxes from pores of surface.

Application Instructions

Prepare the Applicator
Using an applicator pad, apply a small line of product directly onto the sponge.

Apply to the Surface

Spread the coating evenly across the surface, ensuring consistent and uniform coverage.

Set Time Allow the product to sit on the surface for 15 minutes. A tan-colored haze will begin to appear, indicating the coating is ready for removal.

Buff Off

After 15 minutes, use a clean, soft microfiber towel to buff off the coating.

This will reveal a super slick, finished surface underneath.

Environmental Conditions

Trace Coat is not affected by outside weather or heat, ensuring an easy and consistent application in all conditions.

Curing & Water Exposure

The coated vehicle will be water-ready after 24 hours.

For watercraft, full submersion is recommended after 36 hours to ensure proper curing.

Trace Coat comes in an 8 oz bottle and spreads exceptionally well. One bottle provides enough product to protect a boat’s gel coat and one to two vehicles, if not more, depending on vehicle size and application technique.

Trace Coat was specifically designed for DIY installers, making it easy to apply and achieve professional-level protection on your own—no special tools or experience required.

Troubleshooting

If the coating is left on the surface too long and streaking or hazing appears that will not come off during normal leveling:

Lightly spray a panel prep or alcohol-based solution onto a clean microfiber towel.

Gently wipe the affected area to remove any remaining dried solvents.

This will not remove the coating—approximately 90% of the product has already embedded into the surface, and performance will not be compromised.

Unopened Bottle:

When stored in a cool, dark place, Race Coat will remain stable and effective for up to 1 year.

After Opening:

Once opened, the remaining product is usable for an additional 6 months, provided the bottle is properly sealed between uses and stored in a cool, dark environment.

Storage Tips:

Keep the cap tightly closed when not in use. Avoid prolonged exposure to heat, direct sunlight, or freezing temperatures.
